First cut two 2x4s to 54 inches long. Next cut two 4x4s to 65 inches long. Measure from one end of the 2x4s and mark a line at 14.5 inches. This is how far back you will set your 4x4 posts. Use little "L" brackets and 1.25" deck screws to screw the posts in place. Next you have to cut and attach the angled brackets. Cut two 2x4s to 57.5 inches long. Cut one end of these 2x4s at a 30 degree angle and cut the other end at a 60 degree angle. ![]() Attach the angle brackets with 2 inch deck screws. Make sure that you create two different legs here. The angled 2x4 needs to be flush with the outside of each leg. On the left leg the 2x4 needs to be flush with the left side. On the right leg it needs to be flush with the right side. Next create gussets out of either 1/4 inch ply-wood or MDF. Attach the gussets to the outside of the angled joints with 1.25 inch deck screws for extra stability and strength. You now have your legs built. Keep in mind that they should not be exactly the same. You should have a left leg and right leg with gussets attached to the outside of each leg. Step 2: Cut and attach the cross pieces. The front cross braces are 1x2s. I used a hard wood because these will take a lot of beating. I cut them to 50 inches long and attached them to the front of the stand. Their distance apart really depends on the distance of the cross brace holes on the back of the actual dummy. These cross braces can be moved up and down the vertical 4x4 post to adjust the dummy for different users. I used 2.5 inch lag bolts to attach the front cross braces to the posts. ![]() ![]()
